Initial Session and Treatment

You will receive intake paperwork prior to your first appointment. It’s comprehensive, but helps us get a clear picture of your history and your current state. Your first visit will be an hour long, in-depth assessment. The goal of the first session is for you to feel heard, cared for and clear on the plan moving forward. Your care can be in-person, virtual or a combination of both.

Get Back to Your Goals

At Rise Up, we don’t just address your symptoms - we work to make sure they don’t come back. Your goals are our goals and we will support you every step of the way.

FAQs

Do you take my insurance?

Rise Up is out-of-network for most major insurance companies, giving you the flexibility to use your out-of-network benefits for our services. This means you can still get reimbursed by your insurance, often with fewer restrictions and more freedom in choosing your care.

Due to federal regulations, Medicare plans follow strict rules that are beyond our control and, unfortunately, we’re not able to accept these plans for reimbursement. We understand this can be frustrating but we're happy to guide you toward other resources, if needed.

Want to find out what your out-of-network benefits cover? Click here for a helpful list of questions to ask your insurance provider.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Washington State law allows physical therapists to see patients without a doctor’s referral. So you can come on in! No need to wait months to see your primary care provider just for a piece of paper.

However, if you plan on submitting to insurance they may require that you have a referral to qualify for reimbursement. Calling the number on the back of your insurance card and asking the questions listed here will help you find out if you need a referral.

What does a pelvic health visit include?

It starts with looking at pelvic floor muscle function and all the areas that can be impacting the pelvic floor. We start with an external exam and can perform an internal examination when appropriate. The internal examination can provide valuable information for treatment but will never be required.

What should I wear or bring to my first appointment?

Comfortable clothes you can move in. Something that provides access to your belly, hips and back, if possible. If you wear compression, support, foot orthotics etc. - please bring them.

Can I bring my kiddos?

OF COURSE! I have four kids of my own and I know the struggle of finding childcare so I can get to appointments. However, if you feel that the kids will be distracting, you can also schedule a virtual visit.
